OUR BACKGROUND & FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

Our Main NDT Instructor is an ASNT NDT Level III, a member of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), and owns Apex NDT Training Services. At Apex NDT Training Services we specialize in Ultrasonic Testing due to its level of complexity as well as offering courses in other NDT, NDE, NDI Methods. We also offer Consulting Services (for a complete list see “Services Offered” section). The owner operates all aspects of the business including presenting the courses. He has over 24 years of Oilfield experience, has served in U.S. Army as a highly decorated Army medic, has received awards for speaking at AWS (American Welding Society) conferences, and has earned a 4.0 average in all of his semesters in college. He has also contributed to the ASNT UT training textbook and is listed on the aknowlegements page. Apex NDT Training commits to giving everything that over 24 years of hands on experience has to offer. All courses are taught to ASNT SNT-TC-1A and CP-189 Standards and / or can be customized for your specific needs. We are located in Rayne, Louisiana but we have taught classes all around Texas and have provided training as far north as Alberta, Canada and as far south as Columbia, South America. We specialize in teaching the students how to make the most use of their equipment by ensuring that every course consists of modules that include both classroom lectures and hands on training. Course materials include visual aids, student hand-outs, test standards, and certificates and score sheets upon completion. For UT Level II courses we teach flaw sizing using the 6 dB. drop method and other advanced UT flaw sizing techniques. We demonstarte how to obtain flaw depth using Sound Path Distance as well as other important information using U.T. formulas. We feel that when a person is using NDT to evaluate a material for flaws he/she should feel confident about the information he/she is providing to the customer.
